Across the Holler

Across the Holler, a band led by my college friend Steve, found the most perfect place to play. Ocean Ciders is a pop-up Cider Bar at Pillar Point Harbor near Half Moon Bay. Steve, Elana, Dan, and Simon (here joined by a friend) laid down some beautiful vocal harmonies over an acoustic folk-rock playlist. The dog-friendly outdoor venue had comfy Adirondack chairs, some fire pits, and a great view of Half Moon Bay.

Ollie and I travelled over the hills to check out the scene on a lovely Sunday afternoon, but Ollie had some ideas other than listening to music. Ball! Woof! Woof! Ollie loves to chase a ball on a beach and in the ocean. And so music had to wait while I wore him out with an infinity of ball tosses.

Fortunately, it was worth waiting for. And Ollie and I reached an understanding when I got a container of Sam’s Chowder and shared the oyster crackers with him.

There were beautiful flowers just behind the band.

Can we play ball some more, please?!?!?
