On a beautiful morning, we decided to visit the National Zoo. Alas the only panda we saw was a statue at the entrance! Mom tried to play with the seals, but they were more interested in the 5 and 6 year old kids running about.

We got to the zoo by Lyft. As you may know, the National Zoo is on a hill. You start at the top and see all the animals while strolling downhill – which usually means that you have to walk uphill all the way back. But we had the realization that we could call a Lyft at the bottom, which made the visit magically easy.
I love a city where you have have the thought “I’d like to go to the zoo” and 10 minutes later, you are there.
