On their first night in DC, I took Micah and Victoria for a walk around the Tidal Basin at night. It was a warm, calm evening. Perfect for a winter walk. And Thomas Jefferson was glad we visited.
Martin Luther King seemed to have a few things to say to the Washington Monument. While Micah and Victoria read all the MLK quotes, I set up my tripod for some clear night shots.
The Reflections were very still in the tidal basin, although a long exposure tends to smooth things out. This shot took 17 seconds.
Washington DC seems to empty out between Christmas and New Year’s Eve. Not many tourists nor residents about. I was able to get this shot with no people in front of the Jefferson Memorial.
In my final photo of the evening, a 5 second exposure, an airplane streaks towards the Jefferson Memoria.
